Corporate Objectives & Strategy

Secured by Design, the UK police crime prevention initiative, marked its 35th anniversary in 2024. Other milestones within the Police CPI portfolio includes the implementation of the Security Systems Policy in 1996, the establishment of the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme through the 2002 Police Reform Act, the founding of the Police Crime Prevention Academy in 2017, and the launch of Licensing SAVI in 2021.

The vision

The Police CPI vision is to be the leading catalyst for crime prevention, supporting policing and communities by preventing crime where we live, work, and socialise.

Objective

Police CPI is committed to driving sustainable crime reduction and enhancing public trust in policing. Our strategic objective for the next five years is to significantly expand our crime prevention capabilities, measured rigorously through data analysis and independent academic research, ensuring a demonstrable increase in impact by 2028/29.

The strategy

Underpinning this vision, is the drive to increase our crime prevention output by taking two well established initiatives - Secured by Design & the Police Crime Prevention Academy - and expanding their reach and impact over the next 5 years. We will support this by developing the Licensing SAVI initiative and SBD’s Secure Connected Device accreditation scheme into fully established crime prevention solutions.
