Consultant Assessors and Trainers

The Police Crime Prevention Academy is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to support the assessment and delivery of its accredited vocational qualifications and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes.

About the Role

Working on a contracted, ad hoc consultancy basis, successful applicants will contribute to the Academy's assessment and training activities, supporting the development of prevention professionals across the UK.

The role includes:

  • Assessing work-based evidence remotely for accredited vocational qualifications at Levels 2 to 5, within agreed quality standards and timescales.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of training programmes for accredited vocational qualifications at Levels 3 to 5, as well as bespoke CPD events delivered online via Microsoft Teams and in person.
  • Working collaboratively with members of the permanent Academy team as required.
  • Reporting to the Academy's National Manager and/or Lead Internal Quality Assurance Verifier (IQAV)

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold, or be actively working towards, a recognised and appropriate qualification that enables the assessment of vocational qualifications, such as:
    • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment;
    • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement;
    • Level 3 TTA qualification; or
    • An equivalent assessor qualification.
  • Hold the ProQual Level 5 Designing Out Crime accredited vocational qualification.
  • Have a minimum of two years' experience working in a Police Designing Out Crime Officer (DOCO) role

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in vocational assessment and/or training delivery.
  • Experience of developing learning materials or delivering programmes that support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) 

General Requirements

  • Consultants are responsible for managing and declaring any employer business interests, where applicable

Fees

  • £22.50 per hour (exclusive of VAT).
  • Fees should be invoiced monthly by the consultant

  • Closing Date: 12pm, 30 September 2026
  • Interviews: 2 to 4 November 2026 (via Microsoft Teams)
